Anne Bancroft

2003 Emmy Nominated: Supporting Actress, Tennasee Williams' The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone

Anne Bancroft (September 17, 1931 – June 6, 2005) was an American actress, born Anna Maria Louisa Italiano in The Bronx, New York.

In 1958 she won a Tony Award appearing opposite Henry Fonda in the Broadway production of Two for the Seesaw, and another in 1960 for The Miracle Worker. She then stared in her signature role as "Mrs. Robinson" in The Graduate, opposite Dustin Hoffman. She sometimes said that her role in The Graduate overshadowed all of her other work.

She met Mel Brooks in a rehearsal in 1961, and they were married in 1964 in New York City Hall. They were together until her deathat 73 years old in 2005 from uterine cancer. Bancroft was survived by her mother and two sisters.

Anne Bancroft is nominated for 2003's Supporting Actress in a Mini Series or Movie for her work in "Tennessee Williams' The Roman Spring Of Mrs. Stone".
