Billy Crystal2004 Emmy Nominated: Individual Performance in a Variety or Music Program, The 76th Annual Academy AwardsCrystal, one of the few stand-up comedians to successfully make it as a movie star, first won audiences over on "Soap," where he played the first openly gay character on primetime television. Continuing with firsts, he went on, in 1978's Rabbit Test, to make his feature film debut as the world's first pregnant man. He became a star, however, during his run on SNL, in no small part because of his Fernando Lamas impression, still quoted by legions of people to this day ("You look MAHvelous!"). A string of hit movies followed, including some obviously commercial ones like his follow-up to City Slickers, but despite some debatably poor choices he has remained an audience favourite. Billy Crystal is nominated for his 2004 performance in the variety/musical program "The 76th Annual Academy Awards".
