Blythe Danner was born in 1943 in Philadelphia, and has
been involved with film, television and live theatre her since she was
in high school. She graduated from Bard College in 1965, at 25 she won
a Theatre World Award, and two years later her Broadway performance in
“Butterflies Are Free” earned her a Tony Award. Since then
she has appeared in numerous films, TV shows, and live theatre pieces.
Most recently she has appeared in “Meet the Parents,” “Meet
the Fockers” and “Huff.” She has three honorary doctorates,
including one from her alma mater.
Blythe is an ardent environmental activist, and was worked
in implement and preserve recycling programs from Santa Monica to New
York. She drives a GM EV-1 electric car.
Danner is nominated for "2005's Outstanding Supporting Actress
in a Drama Series" for her role as Izzy Huffstodt on Showtime's "Huff,"
and for "2005's Outstanding Lead Actress In A Mini Series or Movie" for
her role as Rebecca on CBS's "Back When We Were Grownups."
