Brian Dennehy2005 Emmy Nominated: Supporting Actor, Our FathersBrian Dennehy attended Columbia on a football scholarship, and went on to study drama at Yale. In 1965 he began acting professionally in a stage production of Chekhov's play "Ivanov." He has since acted on both film television, and the stage. His big break came as the tough sheriff bent on driving John Rambo out of town in "First Blood." In 1987 he won the Chicago Film Festival's Best Actor Award his portrayal of a cancer patient in "The Belly of an Architech." His success continued on the state, and he received both a Tony Award and a Drama Desk Award for his role in the 1999 production of "Death of a Salesman." His recent work includes appearances "The West Wing" and "Ninety Miles Away." Brian Dennehy is nominated for 2005's Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Mini Series Or A Movie for his work as Father Dominic Spagnolia in Showtime's "Our Fathers."
