Candice Bergen2006 Emmy Nominated: Supporting Actress in a DramaCandice Bergen is a Hollywood icon, and has been entertaining American since the late 1960's, where she earned Oscar and Golden Globe nominations for her work in Carnal Knowledge and Starting Over. Bergen was also one of the first female guest hosts on NBC's Saturday Night Live. What really put Candice Bergen into the spotlight was Murphy Brown, a ten year sitcom series which Bergen not only starred in but also helped produce. The series dealt with several tough issues, and became controversial when then-Vice President Dan Quayle criticized the Murphy Brown character for having a child out of wedlock. Candice Bergen is nominated for a 2006 Emmy for Best Supporting Actress, for her work in Boston Legal.
