Doris Roberts came to Hollywood in 1989 at the request of Lily Tomlin, who had seen her on stage in New York in the production "Bad Habits," and wanted her to be a regular cast member on her show "The Lily Tomlin Hour." The show was never picked up, but it did win several Emmys that year. It wasn't Doris' first exposure to the Emmys, though (she won her first Emmy in 1983 for a guest appearance on St Elsewhere) and would be far from her last. In 2003, Doris took home her third (!) Emmy for her role as Marie Barone on the wildly popular Everybody Loves Raymond, a show with a habit of spawning Emmy nominees and winners such as Patricia Heaton, Peter Boyle, Ray Romano, and Brad Garrett.

Doris Roberts is nominated for 2005's Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series for her role as Marie on "Everybody Loves Raymond."

Doris Roberts is nominated for 2004's Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series for her role as Marie on "Everybody Loves Raymond."

Doris Roberts is nominated for 2003's Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series for her role as Marie on "Everybody Loves Raymond."
