Elaine
Stritch
2004 Emmy Nominated: Individual Performance in a Variety or Music Program,
Elaine Stritch: At Liberty
For a woman educated at a finishing school, Ms. Stritch
sure is tough. She studied at the Dramatic Workshop of the New School
and debuted on Broadway two years later, and has been a stage favourite
ever since. She's won awards on two continents for roles in such works
"Bus Stop," "Sail Away" and "Company." While
she's appeared in numerous comedy specials and shows she never really
made a name for herself that way, but the stage belongs to her, having
just recently won Tony, Drama Desk, Obie, Outer Circle Critics and New
York Drama Critics awards for the stage version of her "Elaine Stritch:
At Liberty" one-woman musical show, and is now hoping to add an Emmy
to that list.
Elaine Stritch is nominated for her 2004 performance in the variety/musical
program "Elaine Stritch: At Liberty".
