Emma Thompson

2004 Emmy Nominated: Lead Actress, angels in america

Though she was studying English Literature while at Cambridge University, Emma was still very involved with acting. She appeared in the Cambridge Review, and also had the distinction of having co-written, co-produced, and co-directed Cambridge's first all-female revue, "Woman's Hour" in 1983. From there, the distinction grows: she is the only person to have won Oscars for both acting (Best Actress for "Howard's End")and writing (Best Adapted Screenplay for "Sense and Sensibility'), and is also a member of a prestigious club of actors who have been nominated for Oscars in both a Lead and Supporting role (the others being Fay Bainter, Teresa Wright, Jessica Lange, Sigourney Weaver, Al Pacino, Holly Hunter, and Julianne Moore).

Actress Emma Thompson is nominated for her 2004 leading role in the series "Angels in America".
