Glenn Close's father, a doctor, opened a clinic in the Congo when she was 13, and as a result spent the next 16 years between Africa and Switzerand where she attended boarding schools. After she graduated from the College of William & Mary with degrees in both drama and anthropology, she made her Broadway debut in The Phoenix Theatre's production "Love for Love." Since then she has had a terrific career, starring in such memorable films as "The Big Chill," "Dangerous Liaisons," and "Fatal Attraction," for which she ranked #7 on AFI's list of the best villains of the past 100 years for her role as the rabbit-boiling Alex Forrest.

Glenn Close is nominated for 2005's Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series for her work on NBC's "The Shield."
