Despite being the daughter of a Russian Aristocrat stranded in London after the revolution, Helen Mirren certainly didn't start out with a silver spoon in her mouth. Among other jobs, she worked for a time as a "blagger" at a carnival to attract customers to the rides. That didn't remain the case, however; after nominations for Tonys and Laurence Olivier awards, and a creer featuring a wonderful body of work, Helen was made a Dame of the British Empire in 2003.
