2006 Emmy Nominated: Supporting Actress in a Drama

Hugh Dancy is a British actor, born in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. His first small-screen appearances were in Trial & Retribution II, Dangerfield, The New Adventures of Robin Hood and Kavanagh QC.

He speaks fluent French, and played a Frenchman who was obsessed by Knights in Relic Hunter. Later on, he played the lead in BBC's Daniel Deronda - an adaptation of George Eliot's novel based on a young man learning about life, love and ultimately who he really is. He also appeared in Hallmark's David Copperfield, and had a role in Ridley Scott's Black Hawk Down.

Hugh Dancy received a nomination for the 2006 Emmys as Best Supporting Actor in a Miniseries for his role in the television movie Elizabeth I.
