Hugh Jackman was born on October 12 1968 in Sydney, Australia to expatriate English parents. He studied journalism at the University of Technology, Sydney and went on to study drama at the Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts. Jackman then starred in the prison drama "Correlli." He has appeared in X Men and X2 as Wolverine, despite standing a full foot taller than the original comic book character.
Hugh is nominated for 2005's Outstanding Individual Performance In A Variety Or Music Program for hosting the 58th Annual Tony Awards on CBS.
