2004 Emmy Nominated: Supporting Actress, the west wing

Janel, born and raised in Woodland Hills, California, may have spent the first 15 years of her life studying ballet, but acting has always been her first love. Janel appeared in her first play as Bianca, in her high school's production of The Taming of the Shrew. After graduation, she moved to New York and studied acting at SUNY-Purchase, but soon returned home to LA to begin acting lessons with Roy London, the man she credits as being her biggest influence. Janel - who has a twin named Carey - originally auditioned for the part of C.J. Cregg on The West Wing, and now lives right across the street from Allison Janey, who ended up with the part.
