Jeffrey
Wright
2004 Emmy Nominated: Supporting
Actor, angels in america
Jeffrey Wright is probably one of the best actors you don't
quite recognize. Wright was born and raised in Washington D.C. and, after
graduating with a Political Science degree from Amherst college, he won
a scholarship to study acting at NYU. He only lasted there about 2 months,
however, before he dropped out to pursue acting full time. And it paid
off. Though he may not be the biggest box office draw in the world, he
is among the most critically acclaimed. His roles in Presumed
Innocent and Basquiat proved his onscreen talents, while
his roles on the stage garnered him a Golden Globe, an AFI award, and
a Tony for the stage production of Angels in America. Al
Pacino, Emma Thompson,
Meryl Streep, Patrick
Wilson, Justin Kirk and
Mary-Louise Parker,
his co-stars in the television version, are
all also nominated.
Actor Jeffrey Wright won an emmy for his 2004 supporting role in the series
"Angels in America".
