Jeremy
Irons
2006 Emmy Winner: Supporting Actor in
a Movie
Jeremy Irons is one of the most revered British actors who
has ever graced the stage or screen... and the critical acclaim he's received
for his work is only one indication of that. In 1988 he starred in the
dual role of mad twin physicians in David Cronenberg's Dead Ringers, which
earned him praise. Other films include Reversal of Fortune (for which
he won the Academy Award for Best Actor), Kafka, Damage, M. Butterfly,
The House of the Spirits, a remake of Lolita, The Man in the Iron Mask,
and Die Hard With a Vengeance as Bruce Willis' nemesis.
One of his most famous roles has turned out to be the voice
of Scar in The Lion King, and has done voiceovers for a number of Walt
Disney World attractions and for various documentaries.
