John Malkovich

2003 Emmy Nominated: Supporting actor, Napolean

John Malkovich was born in Christopher, Illinois. As a boy, Malkovich was reportedly heavy set. By high school, he had transformed himself physically and became a star athlete. After he quit college, Malkovich took on a number of odd jobs to earn a living: school bus driver, house painter, and landscaping. In 1976, he became a charter member of Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago.

He moved to New York City in 1983 and one of his first forays into film was as an extra alongside Terry Kinney, George Wendt, Joan Allen, and Laurie Metcalf in Robert Altman's A Wedding (1978). In 1994, he was nominated for an Oscar for his role in the Clint Eastwood film "In the Line of Fire" (1993). He also played the title role in the Charlie Kaufman-penned oddity "Being John Malkovich", though has admitted to playing a slight variation of himself.

John Malkovich is nominated for his leading actor role in the A&E movie "Napoleon".
