Julie Andrews

2004 Emmy Nominated: Supporting Actress, eloise at christmastime

Ms. Andrews, while still a child, began a singing career to be envied. She travelled throught London and beyond performing in musicals and music halls until coming to America, and Broadway. Two years later she was a star due to her role as Eliza Doolittle in "My Fair Lady," and continued on through other TV and movie roles both live action and as voice talent for Walt Disney, but the culmination - which, strangely, happened to be her first movie role - was in Mary Poppins, for which she won the Oscar for Best Actress. The power and popularity of that film is what enabled her to make another film, The Sound of Music, which became the highest grossing movie of it's day. Audiences weren't ready to accept her in dramatic roles, though (much less in a Hitchcock movie!), and her fame cooled for a brief time. She made a comeback, however, in movies such as Victor/Victoria and S.O.B., and remains a well-loved and busy actress.

Actress/singer Julie Andrews is nominated for her 2004 supporting role in "Eloise at Christmastime".
