Kevin James

2006 Emmy Nominated: Lead Actor in Comedy, King Of Queens

Kevin James was born in 1965 in Mineola, New York. He grew up in Stony Brook, New York, eventually studying sports management and playing football at the State University of New York at Cortland.

Kevin began his career after making an appearance on “Star Search.” He began as a stand-up comic, being a guest on “The Tonight Show.” Some of his material can still be seen on Comedy Central’s re-runs of the hour long special, “Sweat the Small Stuff.”

His real success came through television. As a friend of Ray Romano, Kevin was cast as Doug Heffernan; an average, middle-aged, lazy delivery man on the show “The King of Queens.” He has since then gone on to star in films such as Will Smith’s “Hitch,” and will be staring alongside Adam Sandler in 2007.

He and his wife, Steffiana De La Cruz, had their first child, Sienna-Marie, on September 30th, 2005.
