2004 Emmy Nominated: Supporting Actress, Angels in america
Mary showed potential as an actress early in life, and majored
in drama at the North Carolina School of the Arts. After graduation she
moved on to New York where she did Broadway and Off-Broadway where she
won the Theatre World Award, the Clarence Derwent Award and a Tony-nomination
for her role in "Prelude to a Kiss." TV and movies being the
next logical step, and she made a splash with her roles in Fried Green
Tomatoes, Boys on the Side and Bullets Over Broadway.
However, heart belongs to the stage and has never given up on it, as evidenced
byt her role in 2000's "Proof," for which she won just about
every award they give out, including the coveted Tony.
Actress Mary Louise Parker won an Emmy for her supporting role in the
TV series "Angels in America" in 2004.
