Oliver Platt

2005 Emmy Nominated: Supporting Actor, Huff

Oliver Pratt was born on January 12, 1960 in Windsor, Ontario Canada. His father was a career diplomat, and the family traveled throughout the Middle East and Asia before settling in Washington, D.C. In 1983, he graduated from Tufts University before training as a Shakespearian actor. In college he roomed with Hank Azaria, who subsequently used Platt as the basis for Comic Book Guy on "The Simpsons." He has appeared in such films as "Hope Springs" and "Ash Wednesday," and many others.

Oliver Platt is nominated for 2005's Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Drama Series for his role as Russell Tupper in "Huff".
