Peter Boyle2005 Emmy Nominated: Supporting Actor, everybody loves raymond2004 Emmy Nominated: Supporting Actor, everybody loves raymond2003 Emmy Nominated: Supporting Actor, everybody loves raymondMr. Boyle may have one of the least expected backgrounds of any other actor working today. While many spent their whole life wishing they were on the stage or screen, and still others realized in college and university that that's what they wanted to do, Mr. Boyle was actually a monk in the Christian Brothers order before he ever trod the boards. ...No, seriously. On top of that, when he did marry, John Lennon (who happened to be his best friend) acted as best man. Whether or not he left the priesthood in the early 60s with a mind to becoming an actor is debatable, but that's what happened. Peter moved to New York and studied acting under Uta Hagen. After time on Broadway he appeared in many memorable roles including the chilling portrayal of a violent bigot in Joe, and the hilarious turn as Frankenstein's monster in Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein. Truly an incredible man, he now appears as the cranky but lovable Frank Barone on Everybody Loves Raymond, with fellow Emmy nominees Ray Romano, Patricia Heaton, Doris Roberts and Brad Garrett. Peter Boyle is nominated for 2005's Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series for his role as Frank Barone on "Everybody Loves Raymond". Peter Boyle is nominated for 2004's Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series for his role as Frank Barone on "Everybody Loves Raymond". Peter Boyle is nominated for 2003's Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series for his role on "Everybody Loves Raymond".
