Tyne Daly made her debut in New York's Cherry Lane Theatre after studying at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. She then moved to Los Angeles to appear in her first TV role on "The Virginian" - but it was to be far from her last. Before 1990 she had already appeared in 200 television shows and TV movies (most notably "Cagney and Lacy" with Sharon Gless), and even returned to the theatre in her "free time." In 1996 Tyne set an Emmy record for winning her fifth award and becoming the Emmy Academy’s most honored Dramatic Actress.

Tyne is nominated for 2005's Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role on "Judging Amy."

Tyne is nominated for 2004's Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role on "Judging Amy."

Tyne Daly is nominated for 2003's Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role on "Judging Amy."
