William Shatner was born on March 22 1931 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He started his career in the Montreal Theatre, where was the understudy of fellow Emmy nominee Christopher Plummer. He hit it big with the role of Captain James T. Kirk in the original "Star Trek." But when the show was cancelled his wife left him and took most of his money with her. For a while, Shatner lived in his truck until he got more acting work. He went on to work in "Barbary Coast" and "T.J. Hooker." Recently, he's appeared on the big screen in "Miss Congeniality" and "Miss Congeniality 2."
